Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser

DSQ Sunshine Coast and Chinchilla celebrated Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising some much needed funds for cancer research.  The teams raised well over their target goals.  The Warana team enjoyed a BBQ breakfast and the Chinchilla team enjoyed some cakes and treats.  Well done everyone!

Old Permanent Survey Mark found in Warra

DSQ Surveyors recently connected to PM262 during a survey at Warra in the Western Downs Region.  This Permanent Survey Mark was installed in 1956 under the Survey Coordination Act 1952 and is in very good condition, considering its age.  Interesting to note the letters “L.O.” (Lands Office) inscribed on the plaque.  The former Lands Office...

Survey reference tree found

DSQ Surveyors recently found this survey reference tree on the QGC Valkyrie property near Nebo in Queensland.  The tree has a blazed shield with “1M” chiselled into the blaze, signifying its reference off the one mile marker on the cadastral property boundary.  Most of the surrounding landscape has been cleared of trees for grazing, thankfully...
